TheraGenesis Bilayer Wound Matrix is a collagen-based wound dressing that consists of two layers: a porcine tendon-derived atelocollagen sponge layer and a silicone film layer.
INTENDED USES: Indicated for the management of wounds including: Partial and full-thickness wounds, Pressure ulcers, Venous ulcers, Diabetic ulcers, Chronic vascular ulcers, Surgical wounds (donor sites/grafts, post-Moh’s surgery, post-laser surgery, podiatric, wound dehiscence), Trauma wounds (abrasions, lacerations, second-degree burns, and skin tears), Draining wounds. TheraGenesis may exacerbate conditions in patients showing sensitivity to porcine-derived products (such as insulin), or silicone materials
CLAIMED BENEFITS: TheraGenesis consists of two layers: a porcine tendon-derived atelocollagen sponge layer and a silicone film layer. It contains a non-adhesive gauze (TREX™) to reinforce the silicone film. The meshed type has slits to aid in the drainage of exudate. The biodegradable collagen matrix provides a scaffold for cellular invasion and capillary growth.
