INTENDED USES: For the local management of moderately- to heavily-exuding wounds. Some common types of wounds that bio-ConneKt® Wound Matrix addresses are: full and partial thickness wounds, draining wounds, tunneling wounds, pressure sores/ulcers, venous ulcers, chronic vascular ulcers, diabetic ulcers, trauma wounds (e.g. abrasions, lacerations, partial thickness burns, skin tears), and surgical wounds (e.g. donor sites/grafts, post-laser surgery, post-Mohs’ surgery, podiatric wounds, dehisced surgical incisions).
CLAIMED FEATURES: Collagen-based wound dressing. Long-Lasting Bioavailability- Stabilized collagen prevents premature digestion in the wound bed. Optimizes Host Cell Activity- The porous Matrix enables optimal host cell infiltration. Superior Material Composition- Material designed to minimize repeat applications. Rapid Fluid Absorption- Hydrophilic scaffold to facilitate rapid fluid absorption (0.5cc per sq. cm. of surface area). Maximum Wound Contact- Easily conforms to wound beds and creates maximum contact. Ideal Inventory Properties - Easy to maintain inventory - no refrigeration required, long shelf-life, and supplied sterile.

The addition of Skin Substitutes or Cellular or Tissue Based Products (CTPs) to certain wounds may afford a healing advantage over dressings and conservative treatments when these options appear insufficient to affect complete healing, after at least a 30 day period of comprehensive conservative therapy.
