Drawtex Hydroconductive Wound Dressing with Levafiber is an alginate dressing.
INTENDED USES: for heavily exuding wounds of all shapes and sizes. Contraindicated if arterial bleeding is present
CLAIMED BENEFITS: features the LevaFiber™ Technology aiding effective wound bed preparation without damaging newly formed tissue. LevaFiber™ Technology allows three types of action (capillary, hydroconductive and electrostatic). Drawtex can be used as a first-line dressing as part of the standard of care for wound bed preparation. As Drawtex Wound Dressing draws the exudate away from the wound surface, it also removes toxic components, such as slough, wound debris and bacteria, that compromise wound healing. By dispersing the exudate both vertically and horizontally, Drawtex controls and retains the wound fluid so that it can be transferred to additional layers of Drawtex if needed.
OPTION: 8"X 39", Box of 5 rolls
Alginate Dressings are used to absorb wound fluid and control moisture of wounds. These dressings, when in form of rope or ribbon, fill in dead space, conform to the wound bed and help clean the wound. Alginate Dressings may be impregnated with silver, which can fight infection. Because they are highly absorptive, Alginate Dressings are good for wounds with a moderate to large amount of fluid and should not be used for dry or wounds with eschar. Use with caution on fragile tissue, as it may cause bleeding.
