Wondering if anyone has used HBOT to treat calciphylaxis in addition to sodium thiosulfate and proper wound care? Also wondering if anyone has had Medicare make an exception and cover HBOT treatments for calciphylaxis.

Jad ... I'm going to answer YES and NO on this one. Yes, I have had calciphylaxis wounds in the chamber. Yes, they generally improve, but I must say not dramatically. Your Medicare Fiscal Intermediary might cover it on appeal. To help in that, I'll attach several papers. Hope this helps.

Looks like I can only attach one file at a time. I'm going to send the files by email to Elaine ... and let her get them to you. This mechanism does not allow for more than one file at a time, apparently.
