Not sure if this fits the case, but there are case series suggesting that adjunctive HBOT can be beneficial for uncomplicated surgical site infections/wounds following spinal surgery, particularly within two months post-operation. Of note, from an insurance coverage perspective, chronic wounds or surgical wounds are not a CMS covered indication for HBOT. In cases related to diabetes, the wound must be a diabetic foot ulcer that meets CMS requirements in order for HBOT to be reimbursed.
