XTRASORB® Foam Non-Adhesive is a foam wound dressing.
INTENDED USES: May be used for pressure, venous, arterial and neuropathic ulcers, post-operative and traumatic wounds and donor sites.
CLAIMED FEATURES: It is a foam-based super-absorbent wound dressing. The dressing is comprised of two layers: The wound contact layer is a standard polyurethane hydrophilic foam. Onto this is laminated the second layer, a patented super-absorbent copolymer sheet. When fluid enters the dressing via the foam wound contact layer, it is quickly absorbed up into the super-absorbent layer. This converts the fluid into a gel, allowing it to be bound into the dressing, which can help to reduce the risk of maceration while also keeping the harmful components of wound fluid away from the patient's skin. The dressings can absorb a significantly increased amount of wound fluid as compared to that of standard foam dressings. XTRASORB Foam comes in both adhesive and non-adhesive formats. Does not contain natural rubber latex.
