HOCI Wound Cleanser OTC is a wound cleanser.
CLAIMED FEATURES: Non-cytotoxic, wound care product. It is a gentle cleaning and debriding hypochlorous solution. Hypochlorous acid is naturally occurring molecule that is actually used in the human body and produced by our white blood cells to fight bacteria and inflammation after trauma. Broad spectrum, fast acting solution. No antibiotics, steroids, alcohol or triclosan. May be sprayed as needed. 18 months shelf life

Cleansing is a vital component of wound care. Cleansing a wound helps remove dirt and germs that impair the healing process. Cleansers are solutions used to cleanse a wound. They can be antimicrobial or non-antimicrobial. Antimicrobial agents include antibiotics and antiseptics. Antiseptics are thought to prevent the growth of germs, however inadequate use may interfere with the wound healing process. They include products based on chlorhexidine, povidone-iodine, hydrogen peroxide and potassium permanganate, benzoyl peroxide, hypochlorites and gentian violet.
