A Christian evangelical school, Azusa Pacific University offers a pleasant environment and strong academics in a Christian, faith-based context. Located in the town of Azusa, Azusa Pacific University provides a quiet and scenic environment which, at only 30 minutes from downtown Los Angeles, is still in close proximity to the city. Academics include theological and religious study programs such as bachelor’s degrees in Christian Leadership, Biblical Studies, Christian Ministry and Youth Ministry. Other offerings at the undergraduate level include programs in Visual Art, Liberal Studies, Nursing, Film, Biochemistry, Computer Science, Math and Global Studies, among others. Master’s and doctoral degrees are also awarded in a number of fields such as Theology, Physical Therapy, Music, Education and Business. Since Azusa Pacific adheres strictly to Biblical teachings, all academics are studied in the context of the “Christian worldview.” Student life also embodies the Christian perspective and students therefore must adhere to certain standards concerning dating, alcohol consumption and the like. Other campus activities include chapel services as well as numerous cultural student clubs and organizations such as the Latin American and African American student groups. Career services, academic advising and personal counseling are available to assist students in all aspects of their educational, personal and spiritual life. Admission requirements include a minimum GPA and submission of SAT or ACT scores. Students should also either be practicing Christians or willing to honor the Christian lifestyle and perspective. Financial aid is available to qualifying students.
