About Springfield Memorial Hospital
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a specialized wound treatment available at Memorial Health hospitals in Decatur, Jacksonville and Springfield.

Normal room air contains 28 percent oxygen. Hyperbaric oxygen treatment provides patients with 100 percent oxygen, which improves wound healing. Hyperbaric treatments typically last two hours, with most patients receiving between 30 and 40 treatments in total. Not all wound healing conditions require hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Ask your doctor if a referral is right for you.
