Comprefit® BK - Regular, LARGE

Comprefit® BK is a lymphedema and other medically-complex edema compression garment. INTENDED USE: For treating chronic venous insufficiency or mild/moderate lymphedema CLAIMED FEATURES: 30–40mmHg of active, inelastic, gradient compression for reduction of edema. Medicare approved for ulcers under Code A6545-AW (BK only). . Strap extenders may be applied to provide 10 cm of additional circumference if the patient exceeds standard size range. Easy care - machine wash and dry. Safe for use day or night. Includes one COMPREFIT BK garment, a pair of Basic liners, one foam liner, and one COMPREBOOT. OPTIONS: Regular, Large. Combine COMPREFIT BK and TC for full leg compression.

Product Information

Compression therapy is one of the most important pillars in the treatment of venous ulcers. Compression therapy can be applied through compression bandages, gradient compression stockings, gradient compression wraps, and tubular dressings. These devices address the cause of venous ulcers, by helping blood to return to the heart from the legs.

Is it covered by Medicare Part B?

Non-elastic gradient compression wrap below the knee, 30-50 mm hg is covered by Medicare Part B when it is used in the treatment of an open venous stasis ulcer. Medicare has guidelines that establish what is considered medically necessary and how often an item can be used.
