INTENDED USES: Provide a protective layer when applied to intact or damaged skin due to urinary and/or faecal incontinence, bodily fluids, wound drainage, adhesives and friction: Urinary and faecal incontinence, Bodily fluids, Adhesive trauma, Frictional forces

CLAIMED BENEFITS: Low irritation and alcohol free formulation which reduces the potential for stinging; Fast drying time of under 30 seconds; Water-resistant and breathable barrier for up to 96 hours (4 days); The unique polymer formulation means only one coat is needed to form a protective film; Once applied the film is clear providing constant visibility of the skin and periwound area; Applies easily, even on areas such as elbows, knees, and heels. Moves naturally with patients' skin and won't crack or peel

Product Information

Skin protectants are liquids that when applied on the intact skin around the wound, form a transparent coating on the skin. Skin protectants are designed to protect intact or damaged skin from urine, feces, other body fluids, tape trauma, and friction.  They are contraindicated for deeper burns (second or third degree) burns, infected areas and should not be applied directly to the wound bed or to deep puncture wounds.

Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) does not routinely cover skin sealants, protectants, moisturizers or ointments. Medicare beneficiary may have product covered when used for an ostomy, when all medical necessity criteria are met.
