E5280 Transcutaneous Oxygen and Carbon Dioxide Electrode

E5280 Transcutaneous oxygen and carbon dioxide electrode is a hyperbaric oxygen chamber accessory/ supply CLAIMED FEATURES: The E5280 electrode from Radiometer is used for combined and simultaneous O2 and CO2 measurement and contains both a Clark electrode and a Stow-Severinghaus-type electrode. The Stow-Severinghaus-type electrode is a pH solid-state glass electrode. Upon measurement, the CO2 diffuses through the skin and membrane into the pH electrode, where it dissolves forming carbonic acid that changes the pH of the solution, which is measured and converted to the transcutaneous partial pressure of CO2 (tcpCO2). The electrode heats the skin to 37.0-45.0 °C in steps of 0.5 °C to achieve full vasodilatation and to obtainsignificant tcpO2 measurements.
