WoundReference improves clinical decisions

We are considering bringing a single pulsed lavage product into our community hospital system to go across the continuum including our homecare and ECF. Have you seen that be successfully implemented and do you have to any tips on that process?

Excellent question! Pulse lavage has an excellent evidence base. I have seen a very successful implementation across the continuum that has improved outcomes for patients. Additionally, my experience has shown enhanced communication among providers during "hand-off" of the patient between settings as well as improved collaboration and problem solving between what has been traditionally seen as distinct, separate clinical entities.
Tips: #1 - Provide clinical education on the selected product with all settings together - so relationships can be built. Additionally, potential implementation problems identified and solved.
#2 - Don't assume that one clinical setting understands the unique challenges of the other - having the discussion will help iron out any issues later
#3 - Having management support for positive patient outcomes, good clinical practices, patient and staff safety is crucial.
Good luck on your implementation!
