Does anyone have any experience with the MESI mTABLET ABI/TBI?

Hi Kathryn
Thanks for message. I've asked 3 of our clinical advisors and we haven't had a chance to try it out yet. Since it was approved by the FDA a few months ago and the product is made in Slovenia, it'd be interesting to learn more about the costs to acquire the set and to maintain it. It sounds innovative, as their video shows an ABI being performed in one minute. But their website mentions the need for the whole system including the tablet, to be inspected by a qualified service engineer at least every 12 months to ensure the proper functioning and accuracy. Since it's an imported product, it'd be important to see how well they can service it here. Also, it seems like the measurements are transferred to the mTablet via Bluetooth. One of our advisors used to use a similar wireless ABI device and she mentioned that they could not have cell phones in the room as they created interference with measurements. Wonder if that's the case for this device as well. It seems like they'll have a webinar on Oct 11 and 12, I'll try to attend some sessions and learn more. https://mesiconference.com/

Yes, I had an hour ZOOM with a rep in Europe today. I have one scheduled for tomorrow at 8 a.m. with a rep from the vendor, NikoMed USA, in Pennsylvania. There is a 3 year warranty service (cuffs are 1 year) and essentially you send any malfunctioning product back and it is replaced within that 3 year period (barring damage from misuse/abuse of the equipment). The rechargeable battery is warranted for 3 years, but the rep said that the product life should be about 5 years. If you'd like to jump on the demo with me tomorrow here's the link:

Hi Kathryn
Great that you were able to ask the rep those questions. Thanks for the invitation, that sounds fun! I won’t be able to make it today though, maybe we can compare notes later? Thanks
